A few summers ago, I had an overflowing wardrobe and, somehow, absolutely nothing to wear.
I would stand in front of my closet every morning surrounded by dresses, tops, jeans, and impulse purchases, yet getting dressed felt strangely difficult.
Over the past year, I've gradually simplified the way I shop and dress. Instead of chasing trends, I started paying attention to what I actually wore on ordinary days.
I Stopped Buying Fantasy Clothes
For years, I bought clothes for a version of myself that didn't really exist.
Now, before buying something, I ask myself one simple question:
Would I wear this next Tuesday?
My Wardrobe Became Smaller, But My Outfits Improved
Today, my summer wardrobe is surprisingly small. I rotate between a handful of linen shirts, a few reliable tops, relaxed denim, and dresses that I genuinely enjoy wearing.
If you're currently experimenting with denim, you might enjoy reading what shoes to wear with wide-leg jeans.
Summer Style Feels Different Now
I no longer feel pressure to reinvent myself every summer. Instead, I focus on refining what already works.
Sometimes, the best thing we can do for our personal style is simply pay attention to what we already love wearing.
